List Building by Alex Jeffreys

Yesterday we had a coaching session with Alex Jeffreys about List Building and I can tell you: WOW! That  coaching session was really an eye opener regarding some aspects of List Building and what it take to build a responsive list with tens of thousands of subscribers.

Alex JeffreysOne of the aspects I most admire in Alex coaching sessions is the passion he has for the business, how he lives it and how he pass that passion to you, in such a way that you believe that all is possible. And the fact is that all is possible, like Alex just show us using his own history as an example.

Alex is one of those rare persons with the ability to tell you in simple words how you can overcome tasks that you would imagine like impossible or extremely difficult  to accomplish. He turns everything so simple that you think to yourself “Damn, why I didn’t do this before?”

And the truth is that it is simple. It takes work, time and dedication but it is simple. No rocket science, no need to buy expensive and complex software or books. Just to follow a simple plan, keep to it, measure the results, know your numbers and don’t give up.

I know from personal experience that the best way to get results is to plan ahead. I spent a lot of time doing this and that with no plan, just testing this technique, implementing that strategy, changing after three days because I don’t see results. And of course, going nowhere.

You must give time to things to happen. It’s like gardening. You out the seeds in the land, you water them, you make sure everything is alright, no dogs digging, no birds eating the seeds, and so on, and after some time you’ll see your garden flourish. Sometimes you’ll worry there is too much rain, sometimes the weather is just too dry.

But you know that with patience and proper care you’ll have a nice garden and even can win the neighborhood competition. Internet Marketing is much the same. You can’t try to plant roses and after three days you change to tulips just because you’re not seeing any rose yet. It takes time! And planning.

And this is one of the main concepts and a business foundation that Alex wants us to “absorb”. Plan, test and measure. And I can say that’s one hell of advice! Plan your business, know your numbers and give time. You’ll reach the top.

If you have any bad experience in Internet Marketing, and you think about it, wasn’t there a lack of planning? Post your comments on this issue.

Cheers

Jorge

    Jorge,

Great Post! Alex did really lay it out for us. It is now up to us to go do it. The bonus module from Rich Schefren hit home for me. This has helped me lay out my overall business. Wish you luck!

    Jorge:

Amen brother! Alex is a fantastic coach and mentor. He does tend to talk in a way that makes things simple. Like he has said before, “It’s simple but not easy.” Liek you mentioned, it will take time. Your garden scenario is right. We have to cultivate our business. We have to water it with blog commenting, then add in some article marketing and forum marketing. Then we can begin to see it sprout. Then to keep it growing we do some SEO, some guest posting and then maybe add a couple JV partners to see it realy grow.

It will take time and I am enjoyed how different students have grown and I look forward to seeing how we all flourisch one day.

    Good Luck!

Hey Jorge, hope your well 🙂

Loved the post, my bad experiences have ALL been from a lack of planning, mainly planning to do it all myself!

But now I am aware I am not superwoman and need to outsource some tasks too.

Loved how you tied in your post with gardening, very clever, we shall all have beautiful gardens some day soon…

    Sally 🙂

      Hi Sally

Yes, we are not super heroes. And it hurts having to do everything by ourselves. It hurts our resting time, it hurts our family time, it hurts or sanity because results are still a little far away. I need to make money before I can outsource and I need to outsource to be able to making more money! Sounds like a stupid puzzle, eh… 🙂

Well, let’s drop some more seeds around.

Cheers Sally, I’m a regular visitor of your blog, like very much what you’re doing there 🙂
